Adding a Date-Based Template

Use Templates > Add to launch the Add Template window. Using this window, you can add a Date-Based template for location-based availability for a time period. Once you have added a template, make changes using the Templates window.

Example: A college or university may have different scheduling needs around exams and your availability may change for this period of time.

Note: A Date-Based Template changes availability only for the location and dates identified. When the Date-Based Template is no longer needed, simply delete it. See Deleting a Template or Override.

To Add a Date-Based Template:

  1. Go to Availability > Templates > Add.
Add Template window displays. Name displays as Date Based.

  2. Select Scope using the drop-down list to identify the location. Each location has a selection with a (Date Based) option in parenthesis.

  3. Enter a Name for the Date-Based Template. (Date Based) remains in the name for the location selected.

  4. Select the Date Range: start and end dates.
Note: This availability only overrides the Location-specific availability during the date range you select.

  5. Select Save.
Availability > Templates window displays. NA displays in the Available column, indicating 0 hours available.

  6. If you are available for some of the time, select the arrow next to NA and add hours on the days you are available. Otherwise, leave NA to indicate you are not available.

  7. Select Save.
Saved message displays highlighted in green with a timestamp.

  8. To verify your Date-Based template, go to the My Availability window. The dates indicated display Not Available or some availability, depending on what you entered. Select the location for that day and select Open to see the Date-Based template and make changes.
